Mont St. Michel Tours

WHAT IS MONT SAINT MICHEL?

Located close to the western boundary of Normandy, Mont Saint Michel is a granite mount whose peak rises 240ft above the sea towering over its vast namesake bay. Crowning the mount is the marvellous Abbey church dedicated to the Archangel Michael which is almost 1000 years old. The tides measured in the Bay of Mont Saint Michel are ranked the highest in Europe and give the mount an insular character

several times a year.

WHY SHOULD ONE

VISIT MONT SAINT MICHEL?

Mont Saint Michel represents an architectural masterpiece.  Included on UNESCO World Heritage list in 1979, the sanctuary's history spans over 1300 years! The Abbey of Mont Saint Michel is considered to be the most visited place in Normandy and the second most visited place in France after Paris. No doubt that this is an ideal tour for people visiting Normandy or even Paris (day-trip by train via Caen or Bayeux).

PLEASE NOTE The Abbey is open all-year round (except January 1st, May 1st and December 25th). Most of the time the tide does not hinder access to the Mount. However, there are a few days a year when the amplitude of the tide reaches 12.85m (approx. 42ft) rendering the Mount temporarily inaccessible.
